The Royal Horticultural Society's Great Spring Show had been held at Temple Gardens, between the Embankment and Fleet Street, for twenty-four years when the 1912 show was cancelled to make way for the one-off Royal International Horticultural Exhibition. The Society moved the Great Spring Show to the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea the following year, where, minus wartime interruptions, it has been held almost every year since under the name the whole gardening world now uses: the Chelsea Flower Show.
