Designer, poet, printer and socialist whose wallpapers and textiles are still in production, and the central figure of the Arts and Crafts movement. Morris preached that nothing should be in a home that is not known to be useful or believed to be beautiful, revived hand techniques from vegetable dyeing to tapestry weaving, and founded the Kelmscott Press to remake the book as a crafted object.
